Answers Through Twenty-One Years of Loss

Hi Scott, thank you for the opportunity. I was late at seeing this request. Therefore, I hope I’m not too late in sending this in.

I have been listening to Stephen Davey since 2005. For the past 21 years, most weekdays, I was listening to his program and meditating as well doing my devotions, and Bible study through his daily lessons or podcast.

I cannot express enough, how wisdom for the heart, Stephen Davey, and wisdom international has influenced my life. Stephen has answered many questions that I have had as I walked through my Christian life. I have had many downfalls, many sorrows and many loss, but his teachings always seem to help me find answers and bring me through such dark times. One day I was listening to Steven and he talked about a lady who had been married to a man for a long time and had children, but found out that he was a homosexual. Little did I know that later on in my life and my marriage I would be experiencing the same thing. Stevens podcast helped me tremendously and I prayed for that lady because I knew exactly what she was going through. Since 2005, I have experienced several immediate and distant family loss. Both My husband and my oldest son Lost their life with overdose of fentanyl. With God‘s help I kept going. I had so many questions for my Lord, and sometimes it was so hard to understand why all these things were happening to me. Through Stephen services I found answers.He helped me understand how to listen to my Lord, how to go through trials and how to understand these things would shape and mold me to who I am to be in life.

I also lost my first biological grandson. He was seven days old. His parents were drug addicts.

God test our faith through all of these things we go through in life. I do realize with understanding and Gods guidance through Stephens ministry, I have made it through. Stephen is such a wonderful teacher. One more thing I’d like to mention. As the years progressed, my cousin and his wife were close friends to Stephen . I found out through them a little bit more about Stephens debilitating disease. Then as Stephen made his announcement at the podium about having The spinal muscular atrophy, I was shocked. You see when I was young I got pregnant and had a little baby girl. I named her Rachel. She was born with at that time what they called a Werdnig-Hoffman, Genetic disease. These were the two German men that had Discovered the disease. Later it was named spinal muscular atrophy Either juvenile syndrome or infantile. Rachel live to be 17 months old. I am thankful that Stephen may have had the juvenile syndrome, sounds like, and is living and working for Christ. I just thought it was very ironic on how much I knew Stephen through his ministry in the biblical and Christian sense. And then to find out, he had a genetic disease as well.

God is good all the time he continues to carry me and I still listen to Stephen’s podcast and his programs. I receive his emails and I will always be thankful for all I have learned from Stephen. God bless him and the celebration of 25 years.
