A Broken Back and The King's Pardon

I first discovered Stephen Davey when I downloaded his commentary on the Book of Ruth through Logos

Bible Software.

Over the past forty years in Bible teaching ministry, I have leaned on many of the great Bible teachers. Men

such as Charles Stanley, Chuck Swindoll, John MacArthur, and R.C. Sproul have profoundly influenced my

understanding of God's Word. In many ways, they have served as mentors and role models for my own

teaching ministry.

Stephen's commentary on Ruth was only the beginning. Since then, I have added many of his

commentaries to my library, along with a growing collection of his sermons, which I now listen to almost

daily online. His ability to explain Scripture with clarity, depth, and practical application is truly exceptional.

Currently, I am listening to his series on the Book of Romans. His message on Romans 8, The King's Pardon,

is, in my opinion, the finest explanation of God's forgiveness that I have ever heard. It not only expanded

my understanding of Scripture but deeply touched my heart.

Recently, I have been recovering from a serious lawnmower accident that left me with a broken back.

Looking back, I believe the Lord allowed this season in my life to gain my full attention. It temporarily

sidelined my teaching ministry, but during this time the Lord has ministered to me in remarkable ways.

As I listened to Stephen's message, tears filled my eyes. I had always known that the Lord loved me, and I

knew I belonged to Him. But through this study, I came to appreciate more fully the immeasurable depth of

His grace and forgiveness.

I am now nearly eighty-five years old, and, Lord willing, my teaching ministry will resume within the next

few weeks. During this unexpected season of recovery, God has blessed me with a treasure trove of

Stephen Davey's sermons, commentaries, and Bible study resources. They have strengthened my faith,

enriched my understanding of God's Word, and renewed my joy in teaching.

My heart is filled with gratitude for Pastor Stephen Davey. It is my continuing prayer that the Lord will richly

bless him with wisdom, strength, and insight for many years to come. In my estimation, he is a national

treasure and has become my newest mentor—not only in faithfully walking with the Lord but also in the

joyful privilege of teaching His Word.

I am deeply thankful for his ministry and for the Lord's gracious work through his life.
