From A Navy Ship To Indonesia

I was introduced to Dr. Davey's teaching through BBN from my Gospel-preaching church in 2012. I was a baby believer and in the Navy. Not long after that, I was transferred to a ship in San Diego. I got the Wisdom for the Heart App, and downloaded messages to listen to when I would be on the ship or underway. I think I listened to every message from Dr. Davey while I was on that ship! I grew so much from his preaching and teaching, and always loved his illustrations and humor as well.

I got out of the Navy and went to Bible college for a year, then moved again to prepare to become a missionary. In 2016 or so, I was prompted by the Holy Spirit to lead a young ladies Bible study, and they wanted to study the book of Revelation. I used Dr. Davey's teachings to guide me through that study. Later I did the same sort of thing for the middle school Sunday School class as they studied Revelation.

I'm now a missionary in Indonesia (I've been here since 2019). I married a local believer last year and we plan to move further to the interior to minister. I spend a lot of time preparing Bible Study material (for Ladies Bible Study or Sunday School), and I still listen to Dr. Davey's sermons to prepare before I make the material. I'm working through Mark now.

I've not finished the entirety of the Wisdom Journey yet, but use it as well to study. I'm so excited to see that it will soon be translated into Javanese, but I'm really looking forward to it being translated into Indonesian. It's such a fantastic program to help people get more literate in their Bibles and to get people engaged in using their Bibles! Maybe one day, after I learn the local language here (Saluan) I'll be able to help with a translation into the this language! It would be so helpful for people interested in the Bible.
