Now That We Know, We Can't Unknow

Judi — Piney Creek, North Carolina, USA

From an old office building to a mountain retirement, a family keeps returning to teaching that would not bend, including a truth about the crucifixion they cannot forget.

Now That We Know, We Can't Unknow
Our son, Zak, would listen to Stephen when he wouldn't listen to anyone.

Our family started attending "Colonial" when it was in the Engineer's Building on Tryon Rd. Our kids grew up there after the church moved. We learned so much at Colonial and would never have stopped attending except we retired in the mountains. We love to go back and visit. When we moved I subscribed to the sermons and purchased many sermon series, like Revelation, Esther, Ruth, and the list goes on. I loved sharing with friends at work. Our son, Zak, would listen to Stephen when he wouldn't listen to anyone. Who knows the impact your ministry has made on our family.

Stephen stands out from all the Pastors we have been taught by because Stephen is not afraid to stand on the Word even if it might rub some traditions the wrong way. For example, his stance on discipline of a member who is blatantly sinning and refusing to repent being dismissed from the church membership can be criticized by some folks who don't understand that it is done in love to bring that person back.

Finally, the reason I wanted to write is the teaching on the actual day that Jesus was crucified. Now that we know, thanks to Stephen, we can't "unknow" and it seems no one wants to talk about it! We are so thankful to know since the Bible doesn't make mistakes and a Friday crucifixion does not give us the three days and three nights. Anyway, we love this ministry and we love all you guys especially that one guy, Stephen, who will always be the teacher who is above all others.
