Six Hours Of Service, Very Little Bible

Good evening, Pastor Stephen. My name is Gabriel, and this is my wife, Bárbara. We are from Centro Bíblico Pasco Church. By the grace of the Lord, we also have three children. We would like to share a testimony about our experience with the ministry Wisdom for the Heart.

I used to listen to the program regularly in the car on my way to work. We were previously attending a Pentecostal church, and I remember one time when we came back from a service that lasted about six hours. The service was mostly filled with songs and testimonies, but there was very little teaching from the Bible.

So I told my wife, “I want you to listen to a program so you can see what biblical teaching really is,” because we were not being taught the Scriptures. We listened to the program together, and at that time the teaching was from Nehemiah, the book of Nehemiah. I remember that as my wife listened, she began to cry because she realized that in a short amount of time she had learned far more from the Bible than she had in such a long meeting where, frankly, we were not being taught correctly.

That was when God also worked in her heart so she could understand that maybe it was time for us to leave that church. I had already realized for some time that we needed to make the decision to leave, but it was a bit harder for her. It wasn't easy. But God worked in such a way that now we are in a church where the Scriptures are truly being taught.
